It has been raining extensively in Tenkasi district for the last two days.
Due to the continuous rains in the Western Ghats, the water level in the Courtallam falls has increased and floods have occurred. The waterfall falls like a river beyond the safety ring and offers a breathtaking view of the falls. It has been raining continuously in Tenkasi, Red Fort, Courtallam, Kadayam, Kadayanallur and surrounding areas since this morning.
All the waterfalls like Aindaruvi, Old Courtallam and Puliyaruvi are overflowing with water. Bathing in waterfalls is currently banned due to the corona spread ban. Further water supply is expected to increase due to continuous rains in the Western Ghats.
