Now it’s official: the violent charges against the Rick and Morty creator have been dropped

After being accused of assaulting his partner and even being fired from the production of the hit animated series, the charges against the show’s creator, Justin Roiland, have been dropped. “I always knew these claims were false, I never doubted that this day would come,” he responded

Justin Roiland, who created the series “Rick and Morty” was accused last January on a domestic violence charge, but the charges have now been dropped, a spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s Office confirmed. “We dismissed the charges as a result of a lack of sufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” she said.

In just a short time, Roiland responded on social media and wrote: “I am still deeply shocked by the terrible lies that have been reported about him throughout the period. I always knew these claims were false, I never doubted that this day would come.’

He also added and wrote: “I am disappointed that so many people rushed to judge me without knowing the facts, just based on what my ex said, who wanted to damage my good name. However, now that the case has come to an end, I am grateful that this case has been dismissed.”

As you remember, the complaint against Roiland was filed in California and referred to a case that happened three years ago. The complainant, who chose to remain anonymous, was in a relationship with him at the time. Roiland pleaded not guilty when he was first charged in 2020, and last January he appeared in court for a pre-trial hearing.
