Hanson is considering getting up and leaving the United States, following the complex and difficult social and political climate that has existed in recent years across the United States. ‘All this pressure of being a black woman, the ongoing struggle for justice and peace in America, I’m just tired. I do not want to fight anymore, ‘she explained.
‘I marched, I shouted, I fought. enough. I’m tired. I imagine life in another place much more comfortable. I want to go to sleep in a neutral place. Other. I just want to be happy. Sit on the terrace and drink wine. Watch the birds. Without pressure and tension, ‘Hanson added.
She further explained that in her opinion, it is an ideal situation that she has managed to honestly earn at this stage in her life and career. ‘There’s something about reaching the age of fifty, I just want to do only what makes you good. I can decide I get up and leave. “Going for a walk is a liberating thought,” she concluded.
