“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”, at 9.25pm on Italia 1, the 2016 film, a spin-off of the Harry Potter saga. Here’s the plot. The young magizoologist Newt Scamander arrives in New York from England with a suitcase full of the fantastic creatures that he has collected and saved over many years of travel and research.
Without wanting to, however, he exchanges the precious cargo with that of Jacob Kowalski, pastry chef and No-Maj (this is the American name for Muggles), who inadvertently frees the creatures, violating the Statute of Secrecy and putting Newt in trouble.
It’s 1926 and the country is in great turmoil: the shadowy Gellert Grindewalt is nowhere to be found, something mysterious is sowing chaos and destruction on the streets of the city and the fundamentalists of the witch hunt are increasingly fervent. The wizarding world and the No-Maj world are dangerously close to going to war.
