One of these attacks targeted a military base near the city of Safed in northern Israel and was carried out with 48 Katiusha rockets and a Burkan missile, which can carry large payloads of explosives.

It was the largest salvo of rockets fired from Lebanon since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas on October 7.

“In response to the shooting towards Israel (…), IDF helicopters and warplanes [ejército israelí] “They attacked Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure and rocket launch sites in Lebanon,” the Israeli military said.

Israel also bombed border towns in southern Lebanon, according to the National Information Agency, ANI, which did not report any casualties.

The intensification of attacks came after the death of seven Shiite Hezbollah fighters, including the son of the movement’s parliamentary bloc, Mohamed Raad, in Israeli bombings.

Hezbollah reported five dead fighters on Wednesday and two more on Thursday.

The conflict between Hamas and Israel was triggered after the Islamist group’s attack on Israeli territory, in which its militants killed nearly 1,200 people, mostly civilians, according to authorities.
