The armed wing of the Shiite Hezbollah party announced an operation against Israeli troops following a drone attack in the Khonin region in southern Lebanon.

As Day.Az reports with reference to TASS, the formation’s statement posted on the Telegram channel states that Shiite fighters fired artillery at the barracks of Israeli troops in the settlements of Jairdah and Menara.

“These attacks were carried out in support of the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip and in response to enemy air raids on civilian Lebanese villages,” the text notes. It states that as a result of direct hits, enemy ranks were killed and wounded.

Previously, anti-tank guided missile attacks were carried out on Israeli posts in Zybdin and Ruweisat; no details were given about the consequences of these attacks.

An Israeli Air Force unmanned aerial vehicle fired a missile at a vehicle containing Hezbollah militia fighters on a highway near the village of Khonin in the Bint Jbeil district on Sunday. As a result of an Israeli drone strike, one of the commanders of the elite Radwan anti-tank units, Ismail al-Zein, was eliminated.

Ali Abdel Hassan Naim, the deputy commander of the Hezbollah missile forces in southern Lebanon, was killed in an Israeli drone attack in the Al-Buzuriya area near Tire on March 29.
