A high-level ministerial dialogue on setting a new collective quantitative target for climate finance has started in Baku (NCQG), reports Day.Az with reference to Trend.
“Today marked the opening of a high-level ministerial dialogue on NCQG in Baku, where the chairmanship COP29 warmly welcomed delegates from around the world to an important meeting on the road to COP29,” reads a message on the COP29 Presidency page in “X.”
The new collective quantitative climate finance target is an important component of the Paris Agreement, which aims to set a new financial target to help developing countries take action on climate change beyond 2025.
It should be noted that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) will be held in November this year in Azerbaijan. This decision was made at the COP28 plenary meeting held in Dubai on December 11 last year. Within two weeks, Baku will become the center of the world and will receive about 70-80 thousand foreign guests.
