Petitions related to the hijab issue are coming up for hearing again in the Karnataka High Court this afternoon.
The issue took a turn for the worse after Islamic students were banned from wearing the hijab at a government school in Udupi, Karnataka.
The students filed a case in the state high court seeking permission to wear the hijab. The Chief Justice of the High Court, which had already heard the petitions, adjourned the hearing and ordered an interim injunction restraining students from wearing religious symbols.
In this context, petitions related to the hijab issue will be heard in the Karnataka High Court today at 2.30 pm.
