Hockey teams of Russia and Belarus will miss another season

The IIHF continued the suspension of the national teams of Russia and Belarus in ice hockey for the 2023/24 season.

This marks that both national teams will miss the upcoming 2024 World Cup in Czech Prague and Ostrov.

On February 28, 2022, the IIHF Council decided to remove the teams of Belarus and Russia from international competitions and withdraw all tournaments from the territory of the two countries due to the war in Ukraine. Since then, this ban has been constantly continued, since there are no grounds for revising it.
