The Communist Party of India (CPI) has called upon Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to reconsider contesting in the Wayanad constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. CPI State Secretary Binoy Vishwam criticized the decision, stating that the Congress should shift its focus to the battleground in Kerala and not dilute the fight in North India.

Vishwam emphasized that Wayanad has historically been a safe seat for the Congress party, with no BJP candidates securing a victory there. He further expressed his willingness to discuss the matter in the India Front meeting if given the opportunity.

The CPI has set its sights on winning all 20 seats in Kerala in the upcoming general elections and aims to counter the influence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the center. Vishwam stressed the importance of all 20 MPs from Kerala being left-wing in order to form a coalition government in India, highlighting the party’s resilience against falling for any tactics or monetary incentives.

The demand from the CPI reflects the party’s determination to strengthen the opposition against the BJP and ensure a solid representation from Kerala in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
