Holidays change, changes in public transport in Dubai, effective January 3 – NEWS 360 – GULF

Dubai: The change in the UAE’s holiday from January 1 will be reflected in the public transport sector as well. Metro, bus and tram times will change from January 3. However, free parking will continue on Fridays only. This was announced by the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority.

Metro service will be from 8 am to 1.15 am on the new holiday Sunday. The service will run on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 am to 2.15 am. On other days, the Metro will run from 5 am to 1.15 am. The Dubai Tram will operate on Sundays from 9 am to 1 am. On other days the service will be from 6 am to 1 am. Bus times also vary according to the congestion.

Free parking will be the same as on Fridays and public holidays. Closing hours for the Floating Bridge have been renewed from 10pm to 6am. It will come into effect from February 2.

The main offices of the RTA are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. It will be open Friday from 7.30 am to 12 noon. On other days the working hours will be from 7.30 am to 3.30 pm. RTA’s technical testing centers will be closed on Saturday. It will be open from 4 to 9 pm on Fridays. Customer centers are open Monday through Thursday from 8 am to 7.30 pm. Saturday and Sunday will be holidays. It will be open on Fridays from 8 am to 12 noon.

Today was the last Sunday of the working day for various sections in the UAE. From next week, the country will have four and a half days of work and two and a half days of vacation. Holidays will change from the beginning of 2022 for some private institutions and students outside the government sector
