The body of a 69-year-old man, actively sought in Creuse since two individuals confessed to his murder last week, has been found, a source close to the investigation said on Tuesday.
According to this source confirming information from France Bleu, the body of the victim, who disappeared on November 12, was found on Monday afternoon by road maintenance workers, in the ditch of a departmental road in the town of La Souterraine, in the Creuse. The autopsy, whose results cited by La Montagne fell on Wednesday, revealed “marks of strangulation and chest compressions”, according to Baptiste Porcher, the public prosecutor of Limoges.
“Theft with violence resulting in death”
The Limoges prosecutor’s office had opened an investigation since Friday for “robbery with violence resulting in death”. Two men, arrested in Allier for another violent robbery in mid-November, had confessed in police custody to having previously stolen the victim’s vehicle and killed the latter by abandoning the body in Creuse.
The two fugitives would then have continued on their way, before having an accident. The car, registered in the name of this resident of Saint-Barbant (Haute-Vienne), was found in the Allier. The sexagenarian, a Frenchman living in Switzerland, would have met his executioners in this same village where he had another residence. Research had been carried out in the commune.
