The Lower Austrian Christian Bauer was mayor of the municipality of Fels ​am Wagram⁤ before he took​ over the management of the “Weingut Schloss ‌Fels” on January 1, 2024.

Who is Ing.Mag. Christian Bauer?

As January 2024, ⁤Christian Bauer has been⁣ successfully managing SPAR’s own winery,​ the‍ Schloss Fels winery, with around 50 employees. Before that,⁣ as mayor of the market‌ town⁢ of​ Fels am Wagram, he made a‍ significant​ contribution to its development into a family-amiable residential and‍ feel-good community for nine years. At the ceremony in the ⁢meeting room of the Lower Austrian state parliament in St. Pölten, Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner recognized⁤ his commitment to the ⁢community of Fels am Wagram, ⁣which has made a name for itself throughout Austria in recent years ⁤as ‍a pioneering community in the energy and environmental sector. ⁤Numerous showcase projects received awards. Mag. Ing. Christian Bauer has also ‌been applying his expertise in the area‌ of ​​management consulting and management for ⁢many years as chairman of the tulln district office of ‍the Lower Austrian Chamber of Commerce.‍ He also taught​ students at⁤ the Danube University‍ Krems for more than 20 years.⁤ At 53 years ​old, Christian ⁢Bauer‍ is one of the youngest recipients of⁢ the decoration.

From mayor⁢ to cellar master

After his term as mayor, Christian Bauer​ took over the management of the Schloss Fels ⁢winery. ⁢The winery, which belongs to the SPAR ⁢trading company, is the largest buyer and processor ⁢of grapes in the region. In recent years, extensive ⁢investments⁣ have been made in infrastructure, modern⁢ technology and a new brand identity. this ​includes the most modern ⁣bottling plant in Europe. The range has​ also been expanded and modernized. Today, the winery produces 107 items, ⁣including 62 wines, two sparkling wines, 42 ⁤spirits, and also‌ seasonal items such​ as ready-to-drink spritzers and mulled wines.
