At that moment the man grabbed a oxygen tank that was found and used to threaten a nurse and the police officer in charge. In the midst of the fear and panic generated, the man broke one of the window panes to try to escape from the hospital.

The idea turned out to be fatal because when trying to escape through the window he slipped and fell from a height of approximately seven meters. The support of more medical personnel who were in the hospital was immediately requested.

Due to the seriousness of the incident, the hospitalized patient had to be transferred to a trauma hospital to receive specialized care, but everything was insufficient because he died during the course.

Given what happened, the office of the The Santa Clara County District Attorney and the San Jose Police Department’s homicide unit opened a joint criminal investigation into the incident.
