Housing prices rose by 3.9% in Girona during the first quarter of the year

The average price of housing has risen by 3.9% in the Girona regions in the first quarter of the year with respect to the same period of the previous year, standing at an average of 1,696 euros per square meter, according to data from the appraiser Tinsa.

In Catalonia the price has climbed by 4.4% the first quarter of the year, below the average of 6.3% for Spain as a wholea. With these increases, the average price in Spain has reached 1,713 euros/m2, while that of Catalonia has reached 2,136 euros/m2.

By province, in the rest of the Catalan demarcations, the price of housing has risen by 4.3% in Barcelona (2,434 euros/m2); 4.9% in Tarragona (1,406 euros/m2); and 3.2% in Lleida (1,006 euros/m2).

In the case of the city of Barcelona, ​​the increase was 2.7%, up to 3,579 euros/m2. With these prices, Catalans spend an average of 31.2% of their disposable income on paying the first annual installment of a mortgage that covers 80% of the value of an average home, an effort that rises to 38.8% in the case of Barcelona. According to Tinsa, the year has begun with a general slowdown in the growth of housing prices (new and used) and for the coming months the forecast of moderation remains with a tendency towards stabilization as a result of ‘a lower funding and a demand that moderates.
