Autostat partner: the electric car segment in Russia will develop by purchasing the company
Igor Morzharetto, partner of the analytical agency Avtostat, explained the restrands interest of Russian buyers in electric vehicles from foreign and domestic auto industry about all the low level of motorization in the country. Since in Russia on average there is only one car for each family, a family cannot have a car to get around the city, without making long trips.
According to Morzharetto, today electric cars in Russia are bought either by the rich, for whom this is not the only car in the family, or by business parks and government agencies. For example, in Kaliningrad, Yandex Taxi now has several Amberauto electric vehicles from the regional company Avtotor, and Moscow Taxi has Moskvichi 3e and Evolute. “Due to the fact that there are now no cheap electric cars that people buy for use in urban areas, the electric vehicle segment will develop in Russia directly through corporate purchases,” the expert believes.
In his opinion, a further prospect for the growth of electric vehicles may be the development of hybrids that combine the advantages of an electric car and a gasoline car – this is a global trend. But they have not been produced in our country and, unlike electric cars, they have no advantages at all, he concluded.
