Alessandro Vinci’s book presented in Milan. The philosopher Galimberti: «School educates but does not educate»
«The school is a disaster, the problem? Only one in ten professors manages to be empathetic». It is pessimistic philosopher Umberto Galimberti on the fate of the Italian school. Intervened in Milan at the presentation of «Torches, not vases», book for charity by Alessandro Vincijournalist of the Corriere della Sera, published by Rubbettino. To see the future with more optimism instead the other interlocutor of the essayist and psychoanalyst, namely the teacher of mathematics and physics, Lorella Carimali. Awarded in 2017 among the ten best teachers by the Italian Teacher Prize: «The foundation that supports this award believes that the school and therefore teachers can change the world for the better but we need investment». Rigid notions, competitiveness among students, school anxiety levels among the highest in the world, inability to generate passions and interests: these are just some of the critical issues which the current Italian didactic model is urgently called upon to remedy. The volume therefore aims to identify useful solutions al raise of our education system so that teachers are finally put in a position to inspire their studentsforging both the character how much it critical spirit. At stake is not only preparation, but also the individual maturation of the boys, the future of this country.
