Cologne – The British band Take That looks back soberly on the events 27 years after their temporary separation. “Of course we disappointed a lot of people back then, but there is no reason to apologize for anything,” said Howard Donald (55) of the German Press Agency. “It’s just part of life. Things start, things end and come back.”
The boy band (“Back For Good”, “Never Forget”) around Gary Barlow and Mark Owen announced the end of the group in February 1996. A few months earlier, Robbie Williams (49) had already dropped out due to growing tensions.
In 2010, the Brits celebrated their five-piece comeback with the single “Shine,” which Williams still describes as an important part of his career. “There was so much bitterness, anger and frustration. “It all suddenly fell silent and was buried,” Williams told dpa. “I just love her. They are my brothers, they make me laugh and are fun to work with.”
Around a year after the reunion, the band members took another break and returned as a threesome in 2014. This Friday, Barlow, Owen and Donald release their ninth studio album “This Life”.
