Today, on February 28, athletes of the Armenian shooting team, Hrachik Babayan and Suren Beryan, took part in the European Junior Championship in Moscow, in which a ticket to the Youth Olympic Games was drawn.
A total of 42 athletes participated in the exercise. Athletes who took 1-6 places could get an Olympic ticket. Assault rifle, 10 m, 60 shots in the exercise H. Babayan scored 619.0 points and ranked 5th in the final eight. And S. Beryan scored 611.4 points and took 13th place. 8 athletes representing 6 countries won a place in the final. each country could only obtain one ticket. So, regardless of the result of the final, H. Babayan received a ticket to the Youth Olympic Games and will represent Armenia in Nanjing in August. This is reported by the Shooting Federation of Armenia.
Seyran Nikoghosyan is the head coach of the national shooting team of Armenia. Hrachik Babayan is a student of Yerevan shooting sports school, his personal trainer is Andranik Ayvazyan.
The Armenian national team consists of 9 athletes who will participate in the European Championship in different age groups until March 6.
