RA Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Hrachya Rostomyan received US Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia Richard Mills today. The parties talked about the cooperation of the two countries in the field of sports and youth policy and jointly implemented programs, the press service of the ministry informs.
The minister welcomed the ambassador and presented the 2016 some of the projects implemented by the Ministry in the process. “What is important is not only the high sports results recorded by our athletes in the past season, but also mass sports, in particular the participation of young people of pre-conscript and conscription age in sports events. A healthy generation is the key to a stable and powerful future,” said the minister.
The minister also spoke about studying the experience of the United States of America as a basketball superpower and applying it in our country. “7 American-Armenian basketball players are included in the RA men’s basketball team. They apply the knowledge they acquired in the school of American basketball to us. Here is another brilliant example of cooperation in sports”, said H. Rostomyan.
Ambassador R. At the request of Mills, the minister also presented the programs implemented by the ministry in the field of youth policy. “The programs are diverse and diverse. As the most important component of our adopted policy, I will single out the regional focus of the implemented programs. We have developed many programs and we are implementing them especially in marzes,” H. informed. Rostomyan.
Mr. R. Mills expressed his willingness to provide the necessary support from the US Embassy in RA in the implementation of the programs and wished success to all initiatives of the Ministry.
