He did it again! In his first competition since the Tokyo Olympics, Olympic medalist Artyom Dolgupyat, who has been battling injury, has secured a medal. Dolgopiat achieved 14.966 in the floor exercise he performed and secured himself a prestigious gold medal at the European Championships, this for the second time in his career after he also did it in 2020.

Dolgopiat took to the mat as the penultimate gymnast, when in first place was held by Christophe Masarosh who scored 14.600 and in second place was Jake German who held a score of 14.433. In any case, the 25-year-old gymnast recorded an exercise almost completely free of mistakes, which helped him easily overtake his opponents on the way to the gold medal.

This is the Israeli’s fifth medal at the European Championships, after winning two gold medals, two silver medals and one bronze medal. This is also Dolgopiat’s eighth medal in one of the biggest competitions, as alongside the five in the European Championships, two silver medals in the World Championships and, of course, the gold medal from Tokyo also appear in the medal cabinet.

This time the aforementioned gymnast had to deal with an injury to his leg, which hurt him in the preparation and also disturbed him during the exercise, but he did not let it disrupt the plans and with a great exercise he overcame everything else on the way to the podium from first place and the sound of “Hope” on the soil of Berlin, once again.
