Mustafa Akar is a farmer here. His habit is to place a chair in the courtyard of the shed built near the farm. But one day, when he reached there, he saw a big pit. It is seven meters in diameter and very deep. Then, Mustafa says, he was in shock for a month.
It is said that Mustafa now does not walk down at night because he is afraid that a pit will suddenly form and he will fall into it and die. Many farmers in the area had a similar experience. Other pits formed in the area. That’s why everyone is afraid. Konya is known as the heart of Turkey’s agricultural sector. However, there are also reports of huge crop damage due to the formation of craters.
