A group of 50 ladies from the Huichapan region reported that they have been allegedly scammed by lenders known as “La Gota, Agiotistas or Financieras”, originally from the state of Querétaro.
This is what René Zilagia, representative, told in an interview for this newspaper, who explained the modus operandi, which begins with handing over bank cards for the agreed amounts of the loan.
In this commercial process, no contract is signed that endorses or gives legality to the loan, however, a promissory note is fraudulently made without the presence of the borrowers, with the pretext that they do not have time, so the promissory notes are unilateral and without the consent of the debtors, they explained.
The majority of the alleged beneficiaries are of humble origins or low-income women, so the providers take advantage of ignorance; “They have come to knock on the doors of the houses to intimidate,” which has caused fear in the women, explained Rene Zilagia.
Loans of amounts like two thousand pesos have become 15 thousand pesos, so they become unpayable credits, with interest rates of 50 percent, and late payment penalties of up to five hundred pesos per day of late payment.
“After the loans are unpayable, a commercial trial begins based on the promissory note that curiously turns around in a month, which generates suspicions about the actions of the justice system, because when the actuaries arrive at the homes they arrive with eviction orders. and embargo,” reported Rene Zilagia.
“The group has initiated criminal complaints against Oscar N, an alleged fraudster, under file 83/2023, to discover this possible network that operates with impunity under the shelter of the government,” they reported; In addition, the women are analyzing sending a letter to the Attorney General Santiago Nieto Castillo, or to the president of the Superior Court of Justice, Rebeca Stella Aladro Echeverría, to report on the situation of this alleged scam, they concluded.
