Suspicious Death in São Paulo
Police responded to a call at Marquez’s residence in the western zone of São Paulo on Sunday evening. According to reports, a man at the scene claimed he had hired sexual services and spent the night with Marquez.
Initial findings by the Military Police of the State of São Paulo (PMESP) revealed Marquez’s body bore an injury to her left eye and marks on her back. Authorities reported she was found wearing onyl underwear.
The man stated that both he and Marquez had allegedly used illicit substances and that she fell asleep and stopped responding at some point during the night. He reportedly attempted resuscitation maneuvers for nine minutes before emergency services arrived, but she was ultimately pronounced dead.
A freind of the man provided a statement to police, obtained by CNN Brazil, indicating she was present throughout the day but not at the time of Marquez’s death. This individual suggested Marquez may have suffered a fall, resulting in the facial injury.
The Public Security Secretariat (SSP) of São Paulo has requested necroscopic and toxicological examinations to determine the cause of death. The case has been registered as a suspicious death and is being investigated by the 91st DP (Ceasa).
