Gujarat Independent MLA Jignesh Mewani has accused the Prime Minister’s Office Kotse devotees of plotting to arrest me.

Gujarat Independent MLA Jignesh Mewani, who was arrested for his tweet about the Prime Minister and later released from Assam jail on bail, said the cases registered against him were part of a premeditated conspiracy to destroy and defame him. The famous verse of the Telugu film Pushpa said that I will not submit to any pressure by quoting the verse “Fire” and not “flower”.

Will Become Police State': Assam Court Pulls Up Police For 'False FIR' Against Jignesh Mevani

Speaking to reporters at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, Mewani said, “There are some Kotse devotees sitting in the Prime Minister’s Office behind my arrest. In Gujarat, no cases have been registered in connection with the 22 question paper leaks. There is no investigation into the massive drug smuggling that took place at Mundra port. There are no inquiries into allegations of sexual harassment leveled by a listed woman against the Gujarat minister. No action has been taken against the Sansad organization for wanting to genocide a particular community

But my tweet about the Prime Minister is simple. I asked the Prime Minister to appeal for peace and reconciliation. I was arrested for that. What it shows is that it was a premeditated plot to destroy me. I have not been provided with a copy of the FIR regarding my case and I have not been informed of the sections imposed on me. I was not allowed to speak to my lawyer and my privilege of being an MLA was ignored. The Speaker of the Gujarat Assembly was not informed of my arrest. This has hurt the pride of Gujarat. The Gujarat government should be ashamed of this. ”
