Gary Bencheghib is an environmental activist dedicated to cleaning up rivers and beaches in Bali, Indonesia.

In 2021 alone, 1 million tons of garbage were collected from this tropical paradise, according to official data compiled by the Reuters agency.

Of this total, Bencheghib used the equivalent of 35,000 recycled plastic bags, crushed and transformed into boards to build his own house.

The small building is also sustainable in terms of energy use, as it is powered by solar panels.
