The personal life of Armenian boxer Arthur Abraham has always been and remains in the center of public attention. The champion, who got married last year, recently enjoyed the joy of fatherhood. Grigor Avetik Abrahamyan, the son of Arthur Abraham (Avetik Grigory Abrahamyan), was born in Germany on September 25.
“I have been waiting for this day for a long time and now I am extremely happy. It’s a great feeling that you can’t explain in words. Both my son and my wife feel very well,” the new father shared his joy in a conversation with Aysor.am.
To the observation that children are usually given two names outside, our interlocutor replied:
“My son’s name is Grigor and he is my father’s namesake. No need to have a middle name. I am proud that my son bears my father’s name.”
Many people in Armenia, out of superstition, do not buy anything for a child before it is born. There is no such approach in Arthur Abraham’s family: the child had everything from the beginning, the parents had prepared carefully in advance.
Although parents always say that the gender of the child is not important, but still, especially in the case of the first child, everyone has a longing for a child of one or another gender in their heart.
“You know, all children are loved, whether they are girls or boys. But I will not deny, my dream is to have 3 sons. So, I will definitely sit at the table with three sons and maybe more,” he admitted with a smile.
The parents are not yet in a hurry to baptize little Grigori.
“I haven’t thought about baptizing yet, I’m sure that one day I will definitely think about it,” emphasized A. Abraham.

When asked who will help the new mother with childcare, are the grandmothers there, or will they ask for the help of a nanny, the champion dad remarked:
“The mother is responsible for taking care of the child. No one can take care of a child better than a mother.”
Arthur Abraham still does not know when he will visit his homeland with his son Grigor Abrahamyan, but that day will come.
