It has been 34 years since the legendary hero Premnaseer passed away. In front of the memory of that great man who was the seedbed of goodness and love
Regards..

It was 1983..when I joined the Electricity Board. Drama writing, directing and acting were the subjects most liked by Manas. There were also some writing programs in periodicals called Vinayan Ambalapuzha. In the meantime, Padmarajan was constantly visiting Sir, Bharathettan and IV Sasiyettan to become a co-director. It was a time when I found joy in their comforting words that we will see what happens next. Then there was a discussion that we could make a film together with some friends.

Gopikumar, who had made the film Arayanmanal, was chosen as the director. Nedumudi Mohan, who was the maker of the flamingos and my friend, suggested it. I met him for the first time when we went to Sir’s house in Madras to give an advance for the film that had Nasirsar as the lead. The question he asked me is still ringing in my ears when I gave him an advance of twenty five thousand rupees in an envelope after talking about everything. Take up a producer job at such a young age? Filmmaking is something that requires a lot of money and effort.

When we said that we can do all that and if we get Nazirsar’s date then everything else will be fine, he laughed and advised us to do everything very carefully and sent us on our way. Just like Nasirsar said, our descent into filmmaking got stuck as we could not start shooting. Later, when I had the opportunity to meet him in some places, I was too embarrassed to do so.

After about seven months I got a phone call from Alappuzha South Electricity City Board office. I was working there then.. Sarangapanichetan called from Alappuzha Udaya Studio. Nazir sir says he wants to meet Vinayan. Saru has told me to send him a car if he wants to go there. I was sure that Nazirsar would ask if I did not say that I should not take up unnecessary work without being mature enough for this.

I was also very afraid of the guilt of blocking and losing his very precious date that day. But he went to Nazir’s bungalow in Udaya and welcomed me with a smile and handed me an envelope. 25,000 was given that day. Hesitatingly holding it, I said sorry sir. Aren’t these things that happen in movies? It doesn’t need any tension. I was able to find Vinayan because of Sarangapani now. Otherwise I would have been worried about not being able to return this amount.

I understand your love for cinema. Sharanga Pani told me everything. Do you want to become a director? Try to keep working. That’s good. Once I will act in Vinayan’s direction. He might have said that to comfort me with a full smile. He died less than five years later. He was a perfect example of how philanthropic an artist should be. A legendary artist named Premnaseer.
