Fecode responded online to the statements of sports journalist Carlos Antonio Vélez.
In the midst of the recent demonstrations in support of Gustavo Petro’s government called by Fecode, The renowned sports journalist Carlos Antonio Vélez sparked controversy with his statementsgenerating a forceful response from the union.
Through his social media account, Vélez expressed his opinion, stating: «I would never give a child to Fecode for his ‘education’, even if he didn’t even have enough to eat! God save me!«. These words did not go unnoticed and provoked an immediate reaction from Fecode.

The union responded through its social networks, directed especially to the sports analyst: «No wonder the lack of education, ethics, training and analysis that your son shows every morning on the radio«, referring to Luis Carlos Vélez, director of La FM and son of Carlos Antonio Vélez.
These statements emerged in the context of the demonstrations scheduled by Fecode. Domingo Ayala Espitia, president of Fecode, highlighted the importance of these mobilizations and noted: «We are in the streets defending democracy, defending institutionality. “We are clear that the Fecode raid has a purpose and that is to diminish the resistance struggle of the people and this organization.”
