frogs croak. The disco ball turns in the wind in front of the window, behind it a wide view of the garden and the Ibizan hinterland. Here, in the Legado, northeast of Ibiza Town, the two Austrians Andreas Oberkanins and Andi Lackner have fulfilled a lifelong dream. They opened their eleven-room finca five years ago, having previously worked in the events sector and at a branding agency.
For breakfast there are eggs from their own hens, products from Ibizan farmers, fruit from the garden and treated water from their own well. No sign of loud Ibiza. You lie between tree and bark: beach, city, club or mountains are all 15 minutes away by car. Everywhere in the garden there are small retreats, under bougainvilleas, hidden behind plant tendrils, shaded by a huge palm, carob or lemon tree. Soft house music wafts across the pool.
