The novelist Ibon Martín (San Sebastián, 1976) has become a best seller in the noir genre. His previous title, ‘The Dance of the Tulips’, was translated into eight languages and was among the best-selling books for months. He now publishes ‘The hour of the seagulls’, a thriller set primarily in Hondarribia and its surroundings and that begins, precisely, with a crime in the Hondarribia Mixed Alarde.

This afternoon Martín presented his book, published by the powerful Penguin group on the historic Plaza & Janés label, in the Aula DV, promoted by El Diario Vasco and Fundación la Caixa. The event, which began at six in the afternoon, was held in person at the Aquarium and also through Diariovasco.com.

“No one like Ibon Martín to immerse us in one of the most breathtaking enclaves of the Basque coast,” says the publisher in its launch. Plaza & Janés is betting on the San Sebastian author, who is trying to promote the book in difficult times due to the pandemic. These days he has been seen in the Hondarribia area attending to national television journalists.
