(Web Desk) Renowned film director Abu Aliha has termed Gauhar Rasheed as an underrated actor in Pakistan and said that if he was in India, he would have been the most popular Bollywood actor of that time, but he is not being appreciated here.
Speaking on various topics in a recent podcast interview, Abu Aliha admitted that she is new to the industry and therefore learns from a lot of actors.
Abu Aliha said that it is known about him that he makes films with a low budget and this is also a fact but it is not at all that he compromises on work, he made “Javed Iqbal” and then “Taksali Gate”. Both the budgets were different so the audience also felt that “Taksali Gate” was a good film.
Abu Aliha said that Taksaligate was liked by people because its budget was high and its scenes cost money while the budget of “Javed Iqbal” was low, so its scenes and sets cost less money and on screen. There is a clear difference.
Appreciating Mahira Khan’s script sense, the well-known director said that I showed a script to the actress which was seen by other writers including writers from India but still Mahira Khan suggested adding some things to the script as soon as she saw it. He was surprised to see his script sense.
Abu Aliha said that she wishes to work with Saba Qamar, Iqra Aziz and Nauman Ejaz and she is trying to work with one of these actors soon, she praised Mohsin Abbas Haider and Faisal Qureshi. While saying that Faisal Qureshi is as much an actor as he is punctual, the time given to him for shooting, he is on the set a few minutes before it.
Responding to a question, Abu Aliha said that although Gohar Rasheed is a difficult actor, she enjoys working with him, he is a great actor who has the ability to adapt to the role.
