Washington: Superstar Serena Williams has said that she has double standards in her actions against German Alexander Swarovski after she was hit in the chair by an umpire during the Mexican Open.

Serena said she would have been in jail now if she had been in Swarovski’s place. Serena was speaking in an interview with CNN.

Serena was reduced to two years probation by the Grand Slam committee after arguing with the umpire in the semi-final against Kim Clijsters at the 2009 US Open. Referring to this, Serena pointed out the double standards of the tennis authorities.

During the men’s doubles match at the Mexican Open, Swarovski’s chair was provoked by an umpire’s line call. The player was subsequently knocked out of the Mexican Open and fined Rs 30 lakh.
