The situations registered in the blockades in the Northeast, Bajo Cauca and West Antioquia and the south of Córdoba they questioned the will of the Clan del Golfo to get involved in the total peace promoted by the National Government, indicated President Gustavo Petro.

The Clan del Golfo is one of the four criminal structures that they had accepted the bilateral cessation of the fire announced by Petro last December 31, along with the Second Marquetalia, the dissidents of the Central General Staff and “the Pachenca”.

Petro signaled in his trill that within the total peace process, there is a disengagement from criminal economiesincluding illegal mining.

In the same line, the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, expressed himself, who pointed out that the protests and the acts of public order that have been presented they are not made by minersbut by criminal organizations.

“These are not acts of unemployed small miners. They expressed at the dialogue table rejection of violence in the social protest”, pointed out the head of portfolio.

The minister also offered his support to the public forces that have been affected in these demonstrations and reaffirms his intention to give all the guarantees to the miners to start a formalization process.

Earlier this week, the Clan del Golfo ratified its desire for dialogue through a public statement, and appointed lawyer Ricardo Giraldo as its representative.

The jurist pointed out in several interviews that this illegal group did not agree with the bill for the subjugation of gangs that the Government presented to Congress.
