If those who brought you to power imposed something else, you would be kind enough to resign to save Armenia and Artsakh from the impending tragedies. Artak Zakaryan

Former Deputy Minister of Defense, member of the RPA Executive Body Artak Zakaryan referred to the recent interview of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.

“Nikol did not understand what the state is. He also did not understand the role and responsibility of the head of state. Nikol did not understand what the process of peaceful settlement of Artsakh meant for him. To this day, he has not even understood what the national opposition is accusing him of.

The most terrible thing is that he does not realize the disastrous consequences of his policies and their long-term, tragic impact on the fate of the Armenian people and the state of Armenia.

How the previous presidents Ter-Petrosyan, Kocharyan and Sargsyan were able to liberate, form, develop and skillfully advance the issues of the actual establishment of the Artsakh Republic, ensuring security and securing the right to self-determination, let’s leave it aside. It has been talked about a lot and all normal, conscious people understand it well.

After Nikol’s interview yesterday, I fear more and more for the future of the Republic of Armenia. That person has zero ideas about the ontological nature of Armenian statehood and the content of current geopolitical developments.

1. He says: “We should be blamed for not talking to the people about the impossibility of a pro-Armenian solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.” If you were a pro-Armenian government, you would do everything according to the negotiation logic and you would not be the bearers of conspiratorial policies, the pro-Armenian solutions could have already become a reality. Since 2018, we have been warning you about your gross and unforgivable mistakes every day. And if you couldn’t, or those who brought you to power forced you to do something else, you would be kind enough to talk to the people and save Armenia and Artsakh from impending tragedies by resigning. Were the seat and rewards more important than the interests of the state?

2. He says: “There would be gaps and unpredictable processes between dismantling the negotiation process and building a new one.” And for whom it was not clear that it is so? Within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, until 2018 it has been stated many times that the alternative to peace negotiations is war. Knowing that, why did you deliberately go on the path of war? so you won’t be called a traitor? And aren’t you sure that they will say the same, and now even more so, you will remain like that in the wall?

3. He says: “2018 With the content we inherited, the process of liquidation of NK institutions had already started.” This is another lie. If so, why was the Republic of Artsakh in 2017? On February 20, they make constitutional reforms through a referendum, or how was 2020? On March 31, the president of Artsakh and the National Assembly will be elected in national elections. Is it possible to falsify, misrepresent and make anti-Armenian statements on the public airwaves?

4. He says: “The lion’s share of RA resources was placed on NK.” Yes, partly so and it was true. The Nagorno-Karabakh issue has been one of the cornerstone issues of the Republic of Armenia’s foreign policy, security, and establishment of statehood. With the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, Armenia was able to build its own security and military defense environment, assume a foreign political weight and role, create ideological foundations for the establishment of statehood, not to mention enormous economic benefits. What do you think NATO or Russia or Israel are fighting over now? Is it possible to spread enmity and try to demoralize the Nagorno-Karabakh issue in order to steal the votes of a section of the people away from politics? Now, since you say that you have no issue with Nagorno-Karabakh, why can’t you negotiate a “peace treaty” with Azerbaijan? Why are the West and Russia pulling you back and forth? Because by losing Artsakh, you and Armenia have lost sufficient sovereignty, face, political value. In exchange for begging for security and holding power for a few months, you have to kneel down in the political backstage of the world.

5. It roughly says: “The parties to the November 9 statement did not fulfill their obligations, particularly items 1 to 8.” Yes, I agree, then… You are diligently criticizing almost all the negotiating packages and the draft working documents included in them. But why do you forget that the disgraceful statement of November 9 was your only “accomplishment” and under it is your signature? If the statement of November 9 that you negotiated was watered down by the fault of others, what guarantee do you give to the Armenian people that the “crossroads of peace” agreement negotiated with Azerbaijan will not be watered down and Turkish tanks will not appear at the entrances of RA settlements?

6. He says: “The Armenian government did everything to prevent Nagorno-Karabakh from de-Armenizing.” Here I have to respond to Serzh Sargsyan’s famous question. “Oh, really…”

There is a lot to say, but perhaps this is enough for our sad and gloomy reality.

You better not do any more serious business, it’s not for you. You decorate a Christmas tree, hang toys and lights from city trees, make fireworks and selfies, spread asphalt, regulate traffic, find and fetch long buses, “build” dry and wet ports, etc. But don’t engage in any serious business until the Armenian people come out of the severe inhumane shock and apathy inflicted on them,” wrote Artak Zakaryan.
