by time news

A work day at the end of August that suddenly turned into a drama in front of his colleagues. Yesterday morning, while he was on duty as usual at the Grotta Giusti spa, Sebastiano Rimola suddenly passed away. He was 62 years old and a historic doctor at the wonderful spa resort of Monsummano. According to an initial summary reconstruction of the facts, the doctor, originally from Calabria but Florentine by adoption and resident in Valdinievole for years where he had worked as a doctor for almost 20 years, had come into service regularly at Grotta Giusti as for every shift. During the morning, however, he had complained of pain in his arm but, as he had also explained to those present, he blamed the discomfort on a physical job he had done in the previous days.

Initially, according to a source’s account, his thoughts had gone to a possible tendinitis or muscle pain, but seeing that he was not getting better, shortly after 12 he decided to call 118 himself so that an ambulance could come to his aid. As soon as they arrived on site, the volunteers of the Misericordia di Monsummano immediately worked to understand what was happening when suddenly Dr. Rimola felt ill, fainting before their eyes. The medical car also arrived promptly on site while resuscitation operations were already underway. A dramatic situation from the moment the doctor, despite attempts at resuscitation, did not have the strength to resist and, according to witnesses, he also suffered respiratory problems until his sudden death.

Dr. Rimola was a well-known and respected person in the environment, where he had worked for about 20 years. Colleagues at Grotta are still in shock and the resort has closed itself in a strict secrecy for the moment. Rimola graduated in medicine in Florence, specializing in clinical phytotherapy at the ASL of Empoli and then trained in disciplines such as PNEI, mind body medicine, emotional intelligence for the management of stress and emotions, nutraceuticals and brainfitness. In addition to Grotta Giusti, he also worked as an internal doctor at the Grocco spa in Montecatini and was the founder and scientific director of a program for stress management with neuroscience and a teacher for corporate first aid training.
