All about Apple

Along with the launch of the M3 chips, Apple reserved space at its event to carry out the first update to the iMac since it abandoned Intel processors for good. Nothing changes on the outside, but inside the new components are present and the Apple company promises that they can be up to twice as fast compared to the previous generation.

What do you need to know:

The iMac was updated for the first time since it received the M1 chip in the second half of 2021. The new feature replaces the M1 chip with the M3 and this means about twice as much performance for the best-known All-in-One on the market. On the outside, it remains unchanged, but now uses 100% recycled aluminum and continues with a keyboard and mouse matching the colors chosen by the user for the housing. In addition to being faster, the new 24-inch iMac supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3

Well, the iMac is no longer the iconic computer it once was and is fighting for attention with the MacBook. That’s certainly why he skipped the M2 chips and went straight to the M3. On the outside, the minimalist look of aluminum plate with glass on the screen remains unchanged, the same goes for the keyboard and mouse following the color chosen for the All-in-One.

For now, we still only have one screen option and it is 24 inches, displaying images in 4.5K with a maximum brightness of 500 nits.

Inside, the iMac flies with the M3 chip

Inside, the M3 chip comes with eight cores for the CPU and up to 10 for the graphics card, along with the option to reach 24 GB of RAM in unified memory. As the iMac skipped the M2, Apple says that the new component can be up to twice as fast as the M1, in addition to bringing support for ray tracing done directly in the hardware for the first time.

In addition to performance, the arrival of the M3 delivers newer connectivity technologies. With it, the iMac is now compatible with Wi-Fi 6E for downloads up to twice as fast, in addition to Bluetooth 5.3, along with four USB-C ports, two of which are Thunderbolt and the system even holds an external monitor with 6K resolution.
