jpnn.comBANDUNG – Chairman of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) Bambang Soesatyo encouraged the improvement of the achievements of Indonesian go-kart athletes.
This was conveyed by the man who is familiarly called Bamsoet when he and the Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono opened the 2024 Electric Karting Race Championship Round 1.
“Hats off to Mr. Basuki, because of his love for motorsports, let alone reservoirs and toll roads, Mr. Bas has even prepared EV Circuits throughout the province by utilizing the land owned by the PUPR Ministry to help go-kart athletes improve their achievements, go international,” said Bamsoet after opening the Electric Karting Race Round 1 2024 at the PUPR EV Circuit, Bandung, Saturday (3/8).
The event, which was held in collaboration with IMI and the Ministry of Public Works and Spatial Planning, competed for the PUPR Minister’s Cup, which was attended by 32 participants from various regions, such as Aceh, Lampung, Bandung, Jabodetabek, and others.
They compete in various classes, including senior, junior, college, and expert classes.
In 2023, IMI together with the PUPR Ministry also successfully held the Electric Karting Race as the only electric go-kart race in Indonesia.
This can be realized thanks to the leadership of Minister Basuki who has an extraordinary vision in advancing automotive sports in Indonesia.
“After Bandung, the second round of the 2024 Electric Karting Race will be held on November 30-December 1, 2024 in the PUPR Ministry Office area, in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN). As a contribution to advancing IKN through karting racing sports,” added Bamsoet, who is now also the Chairman of the MPR RI.
