National Movement for Protection of Consumer Rights Ranjith Vidhanage has said that the sale of bakery products including pan has decreased due to price increase.

Electricity bill

As a result, the sale of paan has decreased by 40 percent and the sale of other bakery products has decreased by 25 percent.

Imported wheat flour has been levied at Rs 50, egg prices have increased and butter has also been heavily taxed.

In this case, 10 percent of the bakeries have been closed and although the electricity bill has been reduced by 21.9 percent, the bakery owners have not reduced the price of the bakery products, Vithanage said.
