Technical Council of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) approved the celebration of the multi-year public works and services contract to build a 90-bed General Hospital of the Zone (HGZ) in Navojoa, Sonora. Although it is not all because the donation of a property was also received to create a University Hospital and the Simulation Center for Clinical and Surgical Excellence in the City of Hermosillo.
During the ordinary session of the H. Technical Council headed by the general director of the IMSS, Zoe Robledothe Director of Administration, Borsalino González Andrade, explained that the construction of the HGZ in Navojoa will benefit more than 85 thousand beneficiaries.
Characteristics of the new hospital
González Andrade added that the project is located 2.3 kilometers from the city center, has a surface of 40 thousand 484 square meterss, of which the three-level hospital will be built in 8,500 meters, with green areas and a parking lot.
It added that it is contemplated to have general, administrative, auxiliary diagnostic and treatment services, hospitalization with 90 census beds, External Consultation with 19 specialties, paramedical and ambulatory services, operating rooms for surgeries and Internal Medicine.
He added that this work will increase the quality, equity and accessibility of Second Level services, comprehensive medical care by identifying risk factors by age group, increased efficiency in the provision of health services and expansion in the resolution capacity.
New IMSS Simulation Center for Clinical and Surgical Excellence
The Director of Administration also informed about the donation authorization and co-ownership rights of the General Hospital “Dr. Ernesto Ramos Bours”, from Hermosillo, offered by the Sonora Health Services. In this space you will create a IMSS University Hospital and a Simulation Center for Clinical and Surgical Excellence.
He stated that coordinated actions will be promoted to provide health services at the Second Level and facilitate the integration of training programs for medical specialists at the IMSS University Hospital in Hermosillo.
Borsalino González added that these actions will develop an academic and assistance environment in training programs.
