In the first 19 days of this month of April, money equivalent to USD 128 million has arrived in the country through legal channels through banking channels. In local currency (110 rupees per dollar) which amounts to more than 14 thousand crore rupees.

This information was found in the updated report of Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (April 21).

According to the information, in the first 19 days of April, expatriates sent money equivalent to 128 million 15 million US dollars to the country legally. At this time, 11 million dollars were remitted through state-owned banks, 79 million dollars through a specialized bank, 108 million 81 million dollars through private banks and 39 million 30 thousand dollars through foreign banks.

Earlier in March, expatriate Bangladeshis sent money equivalent to 1996.68 million US dollars to the country through banking channels. In the first month of the year, 216 million dollars came to the country in January and 216 million 60 million dollars came in February.

In the last financial year 2022-23, the total remittance received was 2 thousand 161 crore 7 lakh US dollars. In the fiscal year 2021-2022, the total remittance received is 2 thousand 103 million 17 million US dollars. In the financial year 2020-21, the remittance came to 2 thousand 477 crore 77 million US dollars. Which is the maximum remittance amount.
