The Epirus section of the Technical Chamber of Greece is moving towards elections, whose members will go to the polls on May 19.
The members of the faction “Collaborating Engineers – DCM”, in the context of their meetings with institutions of Epirus, were in Arta and Preveza, where they discussed with the deputy regional governor P.E. Artas Vassilis Psathas, the mayor of Artas Christoforos Siafakas and the mayor of Preveza Nikos Georgakos, respectively.
In the meeting with the deputy governor of Arta, the faction presented positions and proposals on major issues, among which the course of the studies for the anti-flood protection of Arta and the effort for a mild utilization of Lake Pournario, while Mr. Psathas, from the for his part, he explained all the parameters and discussed possible financial tools for the balanced regeneration of the wider area.
The members of the faction also referred to the proposal to include the TEE of Epirus in the transnational programs concerning the utilization of plant waste for biomass production and the improvement of the connecting roads between Rodavgi and Plaka Bridge, as well as the connection of Arta with Thessaly.
In the meeting with Mr. Siafakas, the issues of Urban Planning and the continuous cooperation between TEE and the Municipality were raised in order to utilize both the Amvrakikos area and the riverside area of Arta. “The main concern for the Department of Epirus of the TEE is the completion of the anti-flood protection of Arta, so that the expansions of the city plan can also proceed, but also the holistic treatment of the river front”, says the faction, while during the meetings there were also other issues, such as the understaffing of the Municipality’s services and especially of Town Planning.
The need to submit proposals for the connection of the port of Preveza with the road axes, the completion of the Preveza SBAK and the mutual cooperation for the development of the coastal front of the city, at the time when the Special Environmental Study is being prepared under the supervision of the TEE, were found at the center of the meeting with the mayor of Preveza, who was asked to complete the zoning of the energy planning of the region, which is also a permanent position of the faction “Collaborating Engineers – DCM”, as stated in a press release.
