On May 5, from 18:15 to 22:22 Moscow time, a penumbral eclipse of the Moon will occur, the Moscow Planetarium reports. The eclipse will be visible from Russia, with the exception of the Taimyr Peninsula and the Chukotka Autonomous Region.

At 20:23 Moscow time, the Moon will be in the penumbra of the Earth at 0.964 of its diameter.

The planetarium reported that the penumbral eclipse is almost invisible to the naked eye.

On May 5-6, the eta Aquarid meteor shower will reach its maximum. The number of “shooting stars” will reach 50 per hour, but the full moon may interfere with their observation.
