NARRATIVE – Like the satirical Israeli show “Eretz Nehederet”, many comedians discuss the October 7 attack in a humorous tone, but are faced with limits imposed by the Jewish state.

In a luxurious hotel room with extravagant gold decoration, three actors disguised as Hamas leaders – Moussa Abou Marzouk, Khaled Meshaal and Ismaël Haniyeh – play poker. Dressed in immaculate beige suits and gold watches on their wrists, the leaders of the Islamist group sing a rap titled: “Gaza’s skies are dark, but Qatar is always sunny.” The lyrics mainly concern Palestinians dying in Gaza, while their leaders are accused of lounging in a bathtub full of cash in Qatar. “They no longer have anything to eat like a Ramadan retreat. I don’t care because I’m sitting in my suite (…) My people don’t have water, I wonder what that’s like.”the three leaders rap in chorus, surrounded by sports cars and scantily clad women.

Through the production of this video clip, the satirical Israeli show Eretz Nehederet wants to caricature the golden exile of Hamas leaders in Doha, Qatar…
