In Russia, 171,905 cases of coronavirus infection were detected over the past day. This is 4.53 percent less than the day before (180,071). Such data on Monday, February 7, were made public by the operational headquarters.

10,843 coronavirus cases have been hospitalized, which is 15 percent less than the number of hospitalized the day before. Two days before, a decrease in hospitalizations in the Russian Federation was also reported. At the same time, the number of those who recovered from the disease decreased – 55,683 people, which is 1.5 percent less compared to the previous day (60,5070).

According to published data, over the past week, the incidence of coronavirus infection per 100,000 population was 763.85, an increase of 63.04 percent compared to the previous week. The increase in incidence occurred in 84 subjects of the Russian Federation, including in 26 regions an increase more than the national average.

Recorded decrease in deaths from coronavirus

Across the country, 609 cases died over the past day, which is 7.87 percent less than the day before. The total number of deaths for the entire period of the pandemic was 336,023 people.

The largest number of patients was detected in Moscow (15,442), St. Petersburg (13,372), and the Moscow region (12,230), in the Chelyabinsk region – 4900, Perm region – 4797. At the same time, a decrease in the incidence by 5.7 percent was noted in Moscow .

During the entire pandemic in Russia, almost 13 million people were infected. The total number of recovered people in the country has reached 10,624,954 people.

The “omicron” variant has become dominant in the Russian Federation. To date, “omicron” has been found in 84 regions. In Moscow and St. Petersburg, four out of five patients became infected with this particular type of coronavirus.
