An aircraft with unusual wings was patented by three inventors from Sevastopol. In the near future, a working model of a winglet will be ready for its first flight.
As it became known to “MK”, the wings of the aircraft of an unusual design will not be located at the edges, but on its “roof”. Actually, he himself will be a cab on the chassis, on top of which a box with open front and rear parts will be installed. A propeller will be installed in the front part, followed by three paired propeller wings. By design, they will most of all resemble the wheels of the first steamships, only their “rowing” blades are wider.
Propulsion wings of this design – they are called shaft-shaped or rotary – are already known. True, they are installed in the same way as on conventional aircraft, along the edges. The authors of the Russian invention note that aircraft of this design cannot take off vertically. The inventors proposed to solve this problem with the help of a blowing device, the same propeller, which is located in the bow of the box. It supplies air to the wings, causing them to rotate faster during takeoff. Each wing has two electric drives and two rotation speed control devices. This is necessary so that the winglet can maneuver. For example, a faster rotation of the rear wing allows you to tilt the device forward, a more intense rotation of the left parts of the wings turns it to the left (the principle is the same as that of a catamaran).
According to the head of the team of authors, honored inventor Oleg Vladetsky, he and his co-authors, his sons, are currently working on the creation of an experimental model of the winglet. It will be small, about a meter long, half as wide, and also about half a meter high. The estimated carrying capacity of the prototype is 15 kilograms. The author hopes that his development will be able to reach speeds of up to 400 km / h, but at the same time he adds that it will be possible to say something for sure only after the first experiments. The pilot model will be controlled by a remote control. If the experiments are successful, it will be possible to talk about the creation of an apparatus that can transport people.
