In recent years there has been a sort of feud between two schools of basketball. One believes in traditional basketball, of digging in the paint and points at any cost to the centers, while the other is a fast game with lots of threes. The meeting today (Wednesday) between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Prometheus in the Eurocup was like this, and it ended with 83:100 for Hapoel Tel Aviv and Tsaba.

Prometheus scored well from the outside in the first quarter, while Hapoel Tel Aviv struggled until it started to find the high ones time and time again in the paint. Points and good actions by JP Tokoto, Jaylen Hurd and Chinano Onoaku gave Hapoel a small advantage, and at one point this exploded.
Danny Franco’s Reds took a huge lead and ran 0:22, led by Jordan McCray in perhaps his best game in a red uniform, while Prometheus missed time after time from the three, on a night where she shot 11 of 31 from beyond the arc (35.5%). The dominance in the paint, and the 24:40 rebound victory, did their job and the team cruised to victory.
Hapoel ends the first round of games in the Eurocup with a score of 4:5 and with an important away win over Prometheus, who dropped to the same score. In the next Eurocup round, Danny Franco’s Reds will meet the London Lions away, after a streak of 4 league games.

Prometheus started well and went up to0:7 Early, while Hapoel did not score in the first four minutes of the match. The Reds managed to get points and take advantage of the opponent’s free throws to equalize with10:10 In good minutes of Tokoto. Both teams continued to fight until the end of the quarter which ended in14:15 to Prometheus.
Second quarter: 32:37 Le Hapoel Tel Aviv
The two teams continued to battle, with Hapoel Tel Aviv dominating the offensive rebound. Jaylen Hurd, in his first game in several weeks after being injured, found Jordan McCray and equalized21:21. The Reds managed to produce their own sequence and go up to23:27 Going forward. Prometheus responded with a run, and the ability of the reds in the paint managed to get them up to32:37, Record advantage at the end of the first half.
Third quarter: 53:73 to Hapoel Tel Aviv
The Reds started the third quarter well and went up to32:44, in fact what completed a 0:12 (and 25:44) run. The red run continued to32:51, in impressive minutes in attack and defense. Prometheus did return to score, but Onuaku raised to37:57, Hapoel later reached49:70. The red control increased until the end of the quarter in which the team scored 36 points, almost as many points as in the first half.
Fourth quarter: 83:100 to Hapoel Tel Aviv
The fourth quarter opened comfortably with Hapoel safely leading by 20 points, an advantage that grew to61:87. The Promethas substitutes did cut back against those of Hapoel, but did not threaten until the end.
