/ The delegation of the Iraqi youth football team under 20 years old arrived, on Sunday, in the Saudi city of Al-Ahsa to participate in the fifth West Asian Federation Championship for Olympic teams under 23 years old, in the absence of coach Imad Muhammad.

The Iraqi Football Association stated in a statement received by Agency, that Muhammad Nasser headed the youth team delegation, and the deputy head of the delegation, Rahim Lafta, along with Nadeem Karim, administrative director of the team, Hassan Turki, technical director, Haider Jabbar and Ahmed Wali, assistant coaches, and Nouri Abdel Zaid. As a goalkeeper coach, Qusay Iyad is an accountant.

The delegation includes the players: Wissam Ali Hamid, Laith Sajid Qasim, Sajjad Muhammad Nayef, Saif Firas, Muhammad Ghaleb, Musa Alaa, Sajjad Muhammad Fadel, Ali Karim, Sajjad Muhammad Mahdi, Hussein Fahim, Muslim Musa Fayyad, Ali Sadiq Mahmoud, and Haider. Abdul Karim Tawfiq, Laith Diaa, Ali Mukhlid, Halkurd Qais Jaafar, Karrar Jaafar, Mustafa Nawaf Zaki, Abbas Majid Kaeem, Ahmed Jassim Laibi, Ali Akbar Taher, Maml Mahmoud Yasser, and Mustafa Qabil Mustafa.

The players: Amory Faisal and Ali Haider will join the delegation tomorrow, Monday.

The youth team will conduct its first training units this evening in preparation for facing the Australian national team next Wednesday, March 20, within the fourth group of the tournament, which takes place in a knockout manner, where the winner qualifies for the semi-finals, and the loser plays a match to determine the places from fifth to eighth.

The coach of the Iraqi youth team, Imad Muhammad, will be absent from the tournament due to the International Federation’s decision to deprive him of training for six months as a punishment against the backdrop of a complaint by media personality Mona Sami.
