THE CHEKING PROCESS – So said Gary Kasparov, a famous Russian chess player and opponent of Vladimir Putin. The Ukrainian President himself clarified that Russia controls 20% of Ukrainian territory.
THE QUESTION. «The share of Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia is equivalent to some European countries. This is what the peacemakers would like to offer Putin, as well as all the human beings who live there“, declared on Twitter Gary Kasparov, opponent of Vladimir Putin who has lived since 2013 in New York. The famous Russian chess player thus criticizes those who would like to negotiate the fate of Ukraine and already obtain a negotiated peace.

This statement comes as on the 100th day of the war, Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian President, acknowledged that Russian forces controlled 20% of Ukraine. Is that the case ? And does this area correspond to that of various European countries, as Kasparov writes?
