Frank Cuesta has had a serious accident with a wild animal from his sanctuary.
Frank Cuesta has been living in Thailand for years, where a good part of his family is and he is dedicated body and soul to his great dream, an animal sanctuary. In the Libertad Sanctuary, as it is called, it welcomes, cares for and reintegrates into nature – and if this is not possible, maintains them indefinitely – a large number of species to facilitate their well-being in their natural habitat.

In the latest video shared on his YouTube channel, Cuesta shows the brutal attack he suffered from a wild animal and for which it could have ended in the worst of ways. “About to die today,” is the title of the video, in which he begins by explaining that what happened is not the mammal’s fault, but his, because he did not correctly calculate the risks and distances.
In the video you can see him entering a river to approach an adult deer and three fawns that are on one of the slopes. While the smaller ones instinctively move away from him, the male faces him and attacks him hard, knocking him over and crashing him into the mountainside.
Aware of the great danger that his antlers pose, Cuesta tries by all means to grab him by the antlers and separate him from himself. The animal, however, does not give up one bit in its attack and continues attacking him. Helpless, the herpetologist can only try to hold it by the antlers with force, but on many occasions he finds himself dragged by the deer.

To try to get him to let go, Frank Cuesta even hits him with stones found in the drag, but without success. Finally, after almost four minutes of fighting, he manages to get to his feet and retreat towards the top of the slope.
